Ruth Kennedy, who is a lifelong member of Wexford Harbour Boat & Tennis Club, has been selected to represent Ireland on the Over-45 tennis team.

The team will compete in Bolton, UK in May and in Japan in November this year. This a great honour for Ruth and for her club, where she has played tennis all her life and has won honours in tournaments all over the country, both as a junior and an adult.

A fundraising night was held in the Boat Club to help Ruth with the travel and accommodation expenses for the trips which she must fund personally.

The tennis was very well attended and a barbeque afterwards was a great success. A raffle with sponsored prizes proved very popular with attendees.
