The format of the competition changed this year, with two separate groups and smaller teams of four players.

The league also ended with a finals night where the top two teams from each group competed for the perpetual league trophy.

A total of 36 players participated along with team substitutes over the course of the month.

The winners from Group 1 were ‘The Net Ninjas’, captained by Natalie Rule with assistance from team-mates Kevin Walsh, Ben Manion and Eileen Cullen.

Runners-up were ‘The Ace of Spades’, led by captain Leona Byrne along with Liam Ó Tiarnaigh, Ed Whelan and Katrina Morrissey.

The Group 2 winners were ‘The Top Spin Doctors’, comprising captain Tamzine Manion, Paddy Cleary, Tomas Japertas and Dave Elliot.

‘The Ball Whackers’ were runners-up, led by captain Suzanne Kenny and also featuring Jonathan Goodbody, Ciarán Owens and Katherine Byrne.

Celebrations and commiserations were held in the clubhouse afterwards, with refreshments kindly provided to teams and supporters by club President Eileen Cullen.

The prize-giving was conducted by club Treasurer Colin McBride. Winners’ prizes of Eoin O’Connor gift artwork and accessories were kindly sponsored by Pat and Cecily Roche, while runners-up received the obligatory cartons of X-balls.

The club would like to thank everyone who participated and donated to this year’s event.
