A retained fire officer whose father died tragically in a blaze has warned of a new strike threat if a minister fails to deliver on a promise to be a “champion” for firefighters at pay talks.
Brian Murray said retained firefighters expect Housing and Local Government Minister Darragh O’Brien to deliver a decent increase in their basic pay, known as retainer payments, at public sector pay negotiations.
