The age of streaming platforms with endless content for a monthly subscription of a tenner has sadly ended.
This comes as some of the main players in the space announced a spate of show cancellations.
Adrian Weckler speaks to producer JJ Clarke on The Big Tech Show today about cancellations and looming price hikes in the streaming space.
Both Disney Plus and Paramount Plus are bootstrapping their operations, with reinstated Disney CEO Bob Iger admitting that the Disney subscription was too cheap for the range of content on offer – and that this offering couldn’t be sustained going forward.
This follows Paramount Plus cancelling a number of shows such as the Jodie Whittaker drama One Night, The Serial Killer’s Wife, and Samantha Morton’s The Burning Girls.
