Euro 2024

The second semi-final of Euro 2024 will be decided today.

First up, England will play Switzerland in Dusseldorf at 5pm.

Later, Netherlands will take on Türkiye at 8pm in Berlin.

Last night, France got the better of a penalty shoot-out with Portugal to secure their place in the semi-finals.

They will play Spain in Munich on Tuesday night, after they defeated hosts Germany in extra time on Friday.

Gaelic games

All-Ireland hurling

We should know the identity of the first of this year’s All-Ireland hurling finalists this evening.

Kilkenny play Clare at Croke Park at the semi-final stage for the third year in a row, where throw-in is at 3pm.

The curtain-raiser there is the All Ireland Senior Camogie quarter-final clash of Kilkenny and Dublin.

Women’s football

Three of the women’s football quarter-finals are to be decided today.

Defending champions Dublin welcome Galway to Parnell Park from 7.30pm.

There’s a repeat of the 2022 final in Tralee, where Kerry play Meath at 5.15pm.

Páirc Uí Chaoimh hosts the meeting of Cork and Waterford at 1.15pm.

Rugby

Ireland play the first of two tests with the world champion Springboks this afternoon in Pretoria.

There’s a debut for Leinster’s Jamie Osborne in the unfamiliar position of full-back.

And scrum-half Craig Casey makes his second international start of the year.

Kick-off at Loftus Versfeld is at 4pm Irish time.

Wimbledon

A beaten finalist in each of the last two years, Ons Jabeur plays on Wimbledon’s Centre Court for the first time this year.

The women’s tenth seed faces two-time semi-finalist Elina Svitolina.

Elsewhere in the women’s draw, top seed Iga Swiatek plays Yulia Putintseva.

2022 champion Elena Rybakina takes on the returning Caroline Wozniacki.

Men’s second seed Novak Djokovic is in the last match on Centre against Alexei Popyrin.
