Long tail backs on the M11 southbound this evening after a lorry jackknifed across the full carriageway at around 4pm.
A serious crash has taken place on the M11 southbound at Junction 16 Rathnew, Co Wicklow, after a large lorry jackknifed and overturned during rush hour traffic.
The incident occurred just before 4pm and the overturned vehicle is currently blocking the southbound carriageway, causing considerable tailbacks.
Fire Service units from Wicklow town, Bray and Greystones are all attending the scene, as well as the National Ambulance Service and gardaí. A full road closure is in place and motorists are advised to expect diversions and delays.
Motorists are asked to take alternative routes if possible.
