Research commissioned by the US tech giant found artificial intelligence could see Ireland’s GDP grow by €45 billion in the years ahead

More than 150,000 jobs in Ireland will either be “fully or partially displaced” by artificial intelligence (AI) technology within a decade, new research commissioned by Google has found.

The analysis, conducted by Implement Consulting Group on behalf of the US tech giant, found 1.7 million people, or 66 per cent of the workforce, will have their jobs “complemented” by the technology, while 28 per cent will be exposed to “no automation”.
