It is being reported that the US gym and health group Planet Fitness has seen its value plummet by an estimated $400 million.

Newsweek reported the losses occurred following a posting by Libs of TikTok on X, concerning a 2023 incident involving a man who allegedly exposed himself to a 15-year-old in a women’s locker room at Planet Fitness in Monroe, Georgia.

According to the report, the gym chain’s value dropped from $5.3 billion on March 14 to $4.9 billion on March 19 with the $400 million fall linked to its refusal to reverse the cancelation of an Alaskan customer’s membership for sharing a photo of a ‘trans woman’ using a female locker room.

Elon musk has also shared his own succinct assessment of the controversy, calling the decision by Planet Fitness ‘messed up.’

The controversy has signalled yet again the growing public dissatisfaction about the elimination of spaces reserved exclusively for use by biological women and girls.

Gript recently reported how Green Party Minister Catherine Martin refused to define what a woman is, when she described the question as “not relevant” to the then forthcoming constitutional referendum.

Leader of Fine Gael and likely incoming Taoiseach Simon Harris also waded into the controversial area of women only spaces when he stated that Irish prisons are not defined in law as either ‘male or female.’

For Irish health businesses the Planet Fitness saga demonstrates that they could face financial catastrophe if they fail to listen to the alarm and anger that many people feel about the preferencing of gender ideology over the safety and privacy concerns of women and girls.
