It is understood that three passengers in the car had a lucky escape and were not seriously injured

Letterkenny University Hospital

One person has been injured following a single vehicle collision in Co Donegal this evening.

Gardai are at the scene of the incident which occurred on the Galdonagh Road (L-1214) at Manorcunningham before 8pm.

It is understood the car involved in the crash struck a pole.

One person has been removed by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment.

It is understood that three passengers in the car had a lucky escape and were not seriously injured.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed a section of the road has been closed.

Motorists are also warned that diversions are currently in place in the area.

A Garda spokesperson said: “A section of the road is closed and will remain closed for a period of time. Diversions are in place. Please use an alternative route if possible.”
