The Los Angeles Lakers are currently trying their best to stay afloat after a significant foot injury was suffered earlier this month by star forward LeBron James. A positive update emerged on Thursday about James that should give Lakers fans some optimism.
Initial reports suggested that LeBron’s absence is expected to be indefinite. However, it appears at the very least he will not require surgery on his foot.
TNT’s Chris Haynes discussed James’ injury on Thursday, revealing that while he still may be sidelined for an extended period of time, this injury will not require surgery to recover.
“So what I can say for LeBron is that sources did inform me that this will not require surgery,” Haynes said on the Uncut Podcast with Marc Stein. “Right now it is all about time and the rehabbing process. The Lakers really have to do what they can to buy him some time.”
This news certainly caught the attention of the NBA world. Many Lakers fans are thrilled that LeBron James will likely be able to contribute for the Lakers sooner rather than later.

The Lakers find themselves on the outside of the playoff discussion looking in, currently sitting as the 11th seed in the Western Conference. They will rely on star forward Anthony Davis and company to pick up the slack in James’ absence to help turn around their season and get back into the postseason after missing it last season.
