Through the collaboration, computer science curricula and evaluations will be made available inside the Minecraft Education world.

Prodigy Learning’s computer science certificate programme, “Coding in Minecraft,” is offered through Minecraft Education.

Through game-based learning in an immersive computer science and coding curriculum, the programme engages young and diverse learners. Industry-recognized certificates are awarded to learners who meet learning objectives.

In some educational systems, including those in Alaska, Idaho, North and South Carolina, Washington State, Northern Ireland, and New South Wales, coding using Minecraft has already been implemented.

Andrew Flood, CEO of Prodigy Learning, stated, “By combining the strengths of both organisations, we are setting a new standard for game-based learning and assessment, opening doors to endless possibilities for student achievement and growth.”

“In the age of AI, our partnership will help build the workforce of tomorrow and create economic opportunity,” added Flood.

The core of this collaboration, according to Microsoft’s Head of Minecraft Education Allison Matthews, is a shared dedication to empowering teachers and enthusing kids.

“We are bringing together Minecraft Education’s game-based learning platform and Prodigy Learning’s expertise in credentialing to create a comprehensive educational experience,” said Ms Matthews.
