It has been a while since the NBA world witnessed LeBron James in the postseason games. The Los Angeles Lakers have missed the playoffs two years in a row now and it looks like a far shot this year as well. The 17x NBA champs are the 11th seed in the West right now with 30 wins and 33 losses. Injuries have been a major reason for their misery during the 2022-23 NBA season. 

LeBron James suffered a foot injury recently and it’s proving to be a bigger problem than many anticipated. James played against the Dallas Mavericks recently and injured his right foot in the third quarter. Courtside cameras even caught James saying “I heard it pop” which went viral on social media as well. 

When will LeBron James return from injury?

Recently, reports of a new development on James’ return date emerged. Multiple sources claimed that the 4x NBA champ did not require foot surgery. It certainly was the news that Lakers fans have been hoping for, considering how important a player of his caliber would be to any team in the world.

Although many expressed their delight towards the news, some alleged that James “faked the injury” to be on the sidelines. However, it has taken a drastic turn once again, as a heartbreaking update for Lakers fans has come to light.

LeBron James has been evaluated by Lakers team physicians and medical staff, and it has been determined that he has sustained a right foot tendon injury. James will be reevaluated in approximately three weeks.

The Los Angeles Lakers officially announced that LeBron will only be re-evaluated in three weeks. This means he will be out of NBA action for this period and will not feature for the franchise. It is a huge blow to the Lakers’ playoff hopes as they continue to struggle without King James. To make things worse for them, D’Angelo Russell is also sidelined with injuries.

If that wasn’t enough, superstar center Anthony Davis is also out with a right foot stress injury. He did not feature for the Lakers in the last game, but they managed to emerge victorious against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It will be intriguing for fans to witness how the team performs with LeBron out for a significant amount of time and whether they qualify for the playoffs this year.
