Several Kerry players competed in the National Masters competition in Baldoyle, Dublin at the weekend, and not only did they compete but they came home with some great results and some silverware also.
Sinead Galvin from Killarney made it to three finals and won the O-50s ladies singles. She also got to the final of the O-50s ladies doubles with her partner Miriam Rohan from Castleisland but unfortunately they came out the wrong side of a very close game.
Tom Bourke also had a brilliant weekend, winning the men’s singles and getting to the final of the O-45 mixed doubles with Sinead Galvin. Unfortunately at 21-20 in the third set of the final Tom got injured which meant they had to retire from play.

U-13 and U-17 Individual Munster Championships
The U-13 and U-17 Munster championships took place in MTU Tralee on Sunday. Players travelled from all over Munster to play in the competition and some of our own young Kerry players managed to do very well on the day. In the U-17 Boys competition Oscar McElligot got silver in the boys singles beating Luke Marks from Tipperary. McElligot then won the boys doubles with his partner Aidan O’Connell from Clare. They beat Shea Farell (Waterford) and Luke Marks (Tipperary) in a very close three-set game 15-11, 13-15, 15-14.
In the U-13 Boys event Jontie Weiland won the doubles title with his partner Enda Conway from Clare.
