The Irish boys basketball team fell to Holdingford last week then opened this week with a loss to Paynesville.
On Friday, Feb. 24, the Irish traveled to Holdingford and fell 82-23. On Monday, Feb. 27, the boys went to Paynesville where they suffered a 97-22 loss.
“We had a brutal stretch since our BBE game, we’ve only had one practice in the last four days followed up with three games in three days with ACGC at home Tuesday,” Head Coach Bryan Schleif said. “It was nice to get a day off after BBE but we didn’t expect the weather to cancel three days of practice. Either way you need to be in the gym everyday working on something”.

The Irish came out flat against the Huskers, Friday after the long, snow induced break. At the same time, the Huskers played very aggressively and that is not a good combination late in the season on the road, Coach Schleif said.
“We thought we matched up well after playing them tight at our place.” “Turnovers played a huge roll in our loss.”
Carter Scanlon led scoring for the Irish with 10 points. He also had six rebounds and one assist.
