Sally Anne Sherry to play pivotal role in company’s growth and sustainability initiatives

ECOCEM, leading European providers of low-carbon cement technologies, have appointed Sally Anne Sherry as managing director of their UK and Ireland business operations, where she will play a pivotal role in driving Ecocem’s growth and sustainability initiatives, and market presence. She brings with her almost two decades of experience in the property industry as well as expertise from several positions as a non-executive director.

As managing director, Ms Sherry is responsible for all aspects of Ecocem’s UK and Irish business, from operations and finance to market development, partnerships, and sustainability. Her contribution will be imperative for Ecocem’s success as they gear up to commercialize ACT, the company’s low-carbon cement technology, which is said to be capable of decarbonizing the cement industry by up to 70%.

In line with Ecocem’s other manufacturing facilities, the Dublin plant will be developed and expanded to support the commercial availability of ACT by 2026.

Commenting on her new role, Ms Sherry said: ‘The need to cut global carbon emissions has never been more pressing and the cement industry has a huge role to play in this. I’m looking forward to making my contribution to Ecocem’s mission. It’s an honour to have this opportunity to join an industry trailblazer in its efforts to achieve a sustainable future for all.’

Donal O’Riain, founder and managing director of Ecocem, commented: ‘The next few years are going to be the most important for our business as we continue to develop and commercialize ACT, our revolutionary low-carbon cement technology, in Europe and beyond.

‘The carbon challenge facing our industry is significant and tackling it will make a major contribution to global decarbonization. There is no better time to welcome Sally Anne and the wealth of experience she brings as we drive towards that goal.’
