An Irish couple, who make travel vlogs, recently took a ride in the Delhi Metro and shared their review on Instagram. In the now-viral video, the couple debunks misconceptions about the facilities in the metro.

Isabelle Geraghty and Colin Finnerty called the Delhi Metro the ‘best metro ever’. The reel began at the baggage scanning area. The ticket window was shut due to maintenance work, but the couple used the electronic ticket machine and shared the ticket price, Rs 30.

“I have never seen such calm in a metro station in my life,” Geraghty said. From air-conditioned coaches to charging sockets to special seats for elderly and women passengers, the duo highlighted many facilities in the Delhi Metro. Towards the end of the video, she noticed the board stating, “Do not make reels”.

Sharing the video, the couple wrote, “With all the misconceptions about Delhi that a foreigner might hear, as well as the fact that metros in general are places to be cautious as a tourist in ANY country, we were apprehensive about whether using the metro of an Indian megacity was a good idea or not.”

“Needless to say we were both shocked at what we found here. The Delhi metro is one of the smoothest, safest and cleanest metros we have come across in any city we’ve been. Not to mention how cheap it is,” their caption said.

Festive offer

The video garnered over 2,40,000 views on the platform and numerous reactions from fellow vloggers who have had different experiences in the Delhi Metro. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Well, I’m pretty surprised! I was expecting tones of people and a huge mess! I especially loved the carriage just for the ladies! I would definitely get the Delhi metro!!” Another user wrote, “It was not this calm when I went on it. absolute chaos!”

“The reel thing is definitely not for reels like this. That was due to a much larger issue that had started creating a public nuisance,” a third user reacted.
